Follow me, dear friends for I've seen the light.
Come with me down below, in the dark of night.
Where people sing and people weep,
for they've finally gone to sleep.
We may never leave my friends,
for we have finally reached the end.
Like many a Greek tragedy, we search for those we've lost.
Like Hades and Eurydice I was drowned by a heavy cost
and like Orpheus and Persephone you couldn't see the pain you caused.
I followed you shamelessly, even before you gave me that ring,
only for you to turn and disappear like the sweet spring.
Why'd you have to leave, my dear? Didn't you know that you were loved?
Don't you know that I still cared?
But now it's all been said and done
the words you speak, they are now none.
No longer your friend,
I guess by now I've reached the end.
