Chapter 9, Part 2. Leaving Ancient Geese.

Eos didn't remember passing out, but she remembered waking to the feeling of fire in her leg, and she was screaming. Her leg felt like it was being pulled apart slowly, then she heard a click, and the pain let up. Leaving it sore, but not unbearable. Two geese stood above her now.

" I know that it hurt, but you should be able to walk for two weeks or so before it starts to spread again. You won't need those crutches for a while." Said the one to the left of her, who was wearing a battle helmet.

"We don't have time to chat, Zero. She needs to get back to the ship; the human wouldn't be able to fly it even if he wanted to."  The goose on the left chastised; she was wearing a bandage around her wing and was missing an eye.

"I know Gizmo!" Zero hissed as he grabbed Eos's arm and lifted her up, "Can you walk?".

Eos tried to stand, a small twinge of pain running through her leg, but the pain wasn't as bad as it had been before. She nodded and followed the geese out of the small medical room. Gizmo handed her a cloak.

"You'll want to wear this. I have a feeling that there won't be a party to celebrate your victory." She whispered. Eos complied and draped the cape over her shoulders, and pulled the hood up Only then did she remember.

"Where's the-" She started, but was interrupted.

"In this bag." Zero said, handing her a shoulder bag that had a glowing light in it. Eos followed the two geese through the crowded streets, where there was honking and hissing of all sorts while the Emperor’s guards barged into houses.

"Keep your head low," Gizmo whispered as they passed a house that was being rummaged around in. No goose paid them any mind as they made their way to the shipyard. It was no surprise to Eos that there would be geese warriors at the shipyard; she was more surprised to hear Gizmo honk, "YO ELEANOR! WE BROUGHT HER!"

A goose walked out from the crowd. "Good! We've sent everyone up here to make it look like they're searching through the ships. I'm glad you've healed well, princess." Eleanor bowed, "Your associate is waiting in your ship. He's been pacing for the last hour. You need to get out of here now, the ship has been packed with food and more medical supplies. Go.".

Eos bowed, "Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you." Then she took off for the ship. She decided not to ask questions since she figured Lonely would fill her in on anything she missed. She got to the ship and saw Lonely pacing in front of it.

"Get on the ship! We've got to go!" She called, running past him.

"Wha-? Eos! Wait!" He shouted, following her. Eos jumped into the driver's seat and started pressing buttons, hearing the engine roar to life, she called back to Lonely, "Buckle up! It's gonna be a rough flight out of here!".

"Ok!" He yelped. She heard the click of his seat belt and pulled the steering handle up. It was shaking trying to get the ship out of the atmosphere as the geese fired boulders towards them, but she managed to pull them off the planet before the starship could get badly damaged.

"Where are we going?" Lonely asked once they reached space.

"Well, I think there's a pattern to where the passkeys are, and according to the old stories, we have three pieces left. We need to travel to the scariest places where there've been stories of monsters and such. The next planet like that that's closer to here is Carnalavilia." Eos explained.

"Carna what?"

"Car-Na-La-Vil-Ia" Eos overpronounced the name, "There's a lot of stories around that place. It'd be a good place to start.".
